High School Grad-let me get the american system of college right, its freshman , junior and then senior right?
Freshman
Sophomore
Junior
Senior
Most Euro schools seem to lump late high school and early college into " College"
and then after you specialize aka choose a major into "University"
US lumps it thus
High School - High School Diploma
Jr. College - Associates' Degree/ prep for Baccalaureate
College- College Diploma (Baccalaureate) (4 year degree)
Grad School (Master's Degree)
Doctoral Program (PhD Degree)
Post Doctoral Program
Usually nothing past the Grad School level pays enough to be worth pursuing. Just saying not judging. I made more with my Master's Degree in the US than I would have made with a PhD in the EU. SOOO most do not pursue the extra college debt. In my case I am almost done with two Doctoral Degrees, but not for the money. Rather for the thrill of research/exploration. Granted I am the exception rather than the rule.
