How much time?
editJust curious, does this Cabal have a time limit? GoodDay (talk) 20:38, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
- No. But the mediation cabal (the cabal part is just cheekiness) doesn't prevent anyone from doing anything. Normally, I'd be participating more, but you folks are discussing things fine, and seem to be heading somewhere (even if a little slow-going at times, but mediation can be like that - I noted that this was essentially self-mediating).
- My only suggestion really is to be bold if you think something has consensus. You might also want to pull in some other editors from Wales, England, United Kingdom, Scotland, and Northern Ireland) if you think there is a workable solution. Xavexgoem (talk) 20:43, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
There's some editors at Scotland, who seem disinterested in this Mediation attempt (which worries me). GoodDay (talk) 20:50, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
- do they know that? ;-) Xavexgoem (talk) 20:56, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
I believe they're aware of this Cabal at Scotland article; I'll check & see if it's posted at Wikipedia: WikiProject Scotland. PS- I've contacted User:SFC9394, in hopes of encouraging him to join the Mediation. GoodDay (talk) 21:00, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
I've left notifications at the 5 WikiProjects (E/S/W/NI & UK) & at the 5 articles aswell. GoodDay (talk) 21:15, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
- Its been up as a notification since the mediation started, but good to remind people --Snowded (talk) 21:19, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
- Might also be good to leave one at the Irish Wikipedians Noticeboard, that's generally where nationalist (sorry but in terms of the NI article it IS drawn down such lines and they don't hide it) NI editors hang out. -MichiganCharms (talk) 06:39, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
- there is no way of avoiding POV there - its why I suggested we sort out the "mainland" and then see --Snowded (talk) 10:39, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
- The Northern Ireland article is probably the most stable and least 'defended' of the constituent country articles. Both nationalists and unionists agree that NI isn't a country, so as long it doesn't say that (which from what I can see it never has), I don't think there will be any problem on the NI page with a change to the intro such as there is on the Scotland and to a lesser extent the Wales page.Pureditor 10:50, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
- You must be new here! The Northern Ireland article is probably the least stable and most defended of the articles! Not only that but nationalists and unionist do not "agree" that Northern Ireland isn't a country. Northern Ireland is most definitely a country. --Setanta747 (talk) 01:16, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
Am I the only one who finds the prospect of numbered Arbitrary Breaks, stretching off toward the horizon, particularly dispiriting? Kanguole (talk) 09:35, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- No, you are not. DDStretch (talk) 09:39, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Still watching, just not squawking
editIt's more clear to me, then ever before - to allow the 4 articles decide on their own. As for Scotland article? We were lucky enough to get them to accept removing nation from their intro & using a 'Scotland within the UK' map. Good luck on finding a solution, ya'll. GoodDay (talk) 21:10, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Wikibreak
editFrom tomorrow I will be on a short, 2 week wikibreak as I will be away on holiday. However, I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm not abandoning the issue or giving up! I stand behind my points and those whose arguments I have supported. I still think a compromise and consensus may be reached. Who knows, when I get back in two weeks it may be all sorted... I hope that I have been a help rather than a hindrance on this issue. Back in two weeks, --She'sGotSpies (talk) 17:25, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Unwatching
editJust a courteous note that I will not have this process watchlisted from hereon. --Jza84 | Talk 13:53, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
